"Tide to Tradition" 20x30" Oil on Canvas by Dale Cook
What pulled me into this scene were the shapes andcolours—how the lines of the old sheds played off theshoreline, and how everything just seemed to settlenaturally into place. The reds and greys of the buildings, the soft blues of the water, the muted greens in theland—they all speak to each other in that easy way natureand working places often do.I love the way the straight edges of the structures meet thesofter curves of the rocks and coastline. There's a balancehere that doesn't feel arranged—it just belongs. It's thatmix of manmade and natural, holding steady through time, that keeps bringing me back to paint spots like this.
