Sansom Wood Crafts: Kim Sansom
Kim Sansom – Woodturner from Stanley, New Brunswick
Kim Sansom is a self-taught woodturner based in Stanley, New Brunswick. Inspired by a deep connection to his land, he discovered a passion for woodturning several years ago and has been creating unique pieces ever since.
Using cherry wood burls harvested from his property, Kim crafts small bowls, vessels, and decorative objects. Each piece showcases the natural grain and swirling textures of the burl, preserving the organic beauty of the wood.
What began as a hobby has grown into a practice rooted in sustainability and artistry. Kim selects and seasons each burl with care, allowing the spirit of the wood to shine through in every object.
Through his work, Kim honors the natural elegance of cherry burl and the rhythms of rural life—transforming raw material into pieces of lasting warmth and character.
