Darren Emenau lives along the rural shores of the Saint John River in New Brunswick, Canada. He experiments between the synergy of clay and glaze. He often uses locally dug clays, and may incorporate potash, silica, shale, and granite for his glazes.

Emenau has received consistent recognition for his art practice and professional achievements over the past 19 years, including multiple Creation and Regional Grants. His work has been presented and included in public and private collections worldwide with numerous publications and exhibitions.

Emenau participated at the International Craft Biennale in South Korea, and the 3rd International Ceramic and Glass Exhibition in Turkey. There have been annual solo exhibitions for most years of his career. Recently Emenau's work was featured in the international publication, Wood-Fired Ceramics 100 Contemporary Artists, along with publications in Ceramics Monthly and Ceramics Art and Perception. Most recently, his work was featured in Gifts of the Earth: Crafting Ceramics from Maritime Mud in Canadian Art.
