Cody Pendleton
Cody Pendleton was born in Nova Scotia, raised in PEI and has family roots going back over 300 years on Deer Island in the Bay Of Fundy, New Brunswick. Although he is a classically trained chef by trade, he has spent the last decade back on Deer Island doing everything from Lobster Fishing, to running a mobile wood fired pizza oven and in the last several years being his artist wife Natasha Miller’s Studio Assistant. The art and coastal island life has inspired him to create his own body of work, encompassing the feeling and memories of living and working in Atlantic Canada and on the water. Cody uses a unique mix of acrylic and pastel to portray the colourful big skies and bodies of water while focusing his paintings on the pull of the immense tides and the boats and creatures that coexist in our waters, and trying to bring awareness and light to the delicate balance that exists and needs to be observed between us and the ocean.
