Ann Fillmore

"A fusion of Celtic and South-West best describes my style. I am influenced by the works of my ancestors, specifically the vikings and Celts, as well as that of the Native Americans of the US South West. I incorporate old techniques such as viking weaves and chain-mail when making jewelry. I use hammers and files to create texture on metal. Nothing smooth and highly polished for me.

My favourite stone is turquoise, but I collect rocks and stones wherever I travel. My local favourites comes from various shores of the Bay of Fundy. It is amazing to reveal the inner secrets and beauty of a stone during the process of cutting and polishing. I create wearable art using stones and various materials."
