ABSTRALITY
The Crossroad of Abstraction and Reality best describes my dual style.
I’m intrigued by the uniformity of man-made structures and then again I’m mesmerized by the blurriness of cast shadows and dappled light. Saint John architecture, harbour, and the surrounding area feed both. I have always been creative, 25 years as a florist followed by 16 in an architectural firm cemented my duality.
Following a four-year period of exploring acrylics on my own - consuming everything I could on the great masters and modern art, I spent two years studying Realism and oil painting with well know local Artist Cliff Turner, followed by 3 years of mentorship by another well known local sculptor and artist, Fred Harrison.
